STORRS, CT (Nov. 5, 2001) -- Behind a game-high 19 points from seniors Swin Cash (McKeesport, PA) and Asjha Jones (Piscataway, NJ), the University of Connecticut women’s basketball team overwhelmed Remus Powerbasket Wels, 102-41, Monday night at Gampel Pavilion. Six players scored in double figures for the Huskies, who came away with their second exhibition win.

UConn began the game with a 6-0 run, but Remus Powerbasket responded behind the play of Agnes Doycinova and Samantha Woosnam to cut the lead to 11-7 at the 14:19 mark in the first half. Sophomore Diana Taurasi (Chino, CA) then hit a three-pointer to key a 22-3 UConn run to put the score at 33-10 at the 6:55 mark. Taurasi finished with 10 points, eight rebounds and five assists.

After entering halftime with a 45-17 lead, UConn started the second half with a 19-5 run. Redshirt freshman Jessica Moore (Palmer, AK) registered 11 of her 15 points in the second half. The Huskies hit the 100-point mark on a jumper by Moore with 1:37 left in the contest.
