Cash Tabbed BIG EAST Co-Player of the Week

PROVIDENCE, RI (Feb. 11, 2002) -- After leading the No. 1 University of Connecticut women’s basketball team to two victories last week, senior Swin Cash (McKeesport, PA) has been named the Feb. 11 BIG EAST Co-Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday. Cash, who averaged 14.5 points and 9.0 rebounds a game last week, shares the honor with Pittsburgh’s Laine Selwyn.

Cash notched her team-leading 11th double-double of the season with 15 points and a game-leading 12 rebounds in a 92-40 victory over Seton Hall last Wednesday night. She followed that with a 14-point, six-rebound and five-steal performance against No. 23 Virginia Tech, whom UConn defeated, 77-42, on Sunday.

The honor is Cash’s fourth of the season. She also picked up Co-Player of the Weeks for Nov. 19, Dec. 31 and Jan. 14.
