Cochrane and Henderson Receive All-American Honors

STORRS, CT (Nov. 26, 2002)-- Senior midfielder Kelly Cochrane (Scarsdale, NY) and sophomore forward Lauren Henderson (Avandale Harare, Zimbabwe) were selected as 2002 STX/NFHCA Division I All-American, released on November 25. Cochrane was named to the second team, while Henderson received third team honors.

UConn was led in scoring by Henderson, the 2002 BIG EAST Tournament MVP, who had a career-high 23 goals and four assists for 50 points. Cochrane, who was second on the team and the league, is atop the national statistics for assists with 21 on the season along with eight goals for 37 points. Both were unanimous 2002 First Team All-BIG EAST performers and were also selected to the 2002 STX/NFHCA Division I All-Mideast Region team.

The Huskies completed their season at 15-8 overall and were the BIG EAST Regular Season and Tournament champions.
