SAAC Members Take Part In Mansfield's "Festival On The Green"

STORRS, Conn. (October 19, 2006) --- “Festival on the Green”, a local fair in Mansfield, Conn., took place on Sunday, Sept. 17, and for the second straight year members of the University of Connecticut Student Athlete Advisory Committee participated. The event, which was sponsored by the Mansfield Downtown Partnership, also served as a venue to show off plans for the Storrs Center construction project, set to begin next year.

A number of student-athletes from the SAAC took part in the event, including several women’s basketball players who signed autographs and took pictures with local residents.  Jonathan the Husky also made an appearance, much to the delight of the many young children in attendance. 

This is the first event on the SAAC’s 2006-2007 calendar, and the group looks forward to attending Festival on the Green again in the future.
