Russ D'Argento Earns BIG EAST Honor

STORRS, CT (March 22) -- Junior center fielder Russ D'Argento (Marlboro, MA) has been named BIG EAST Player of the Week for his efforts in leading the University of Connecticut baseball team to a weekend sweep of Delaware.  D'Argento earns the accolade for the first time in his career.   

D'Argento went 7-for-10 with two RBI, four runs scored and two doubles in the two game series.  He posted a slugging percentage of .800 and an on base percentage of .750 from the leadoff spot.  D'Argento leads the Huskies with 21 hits and eight stolen bases.  His eight thefts are third most in the BIG EAST.

The Huskies are back in action on Wednesday, March 24 when they play host to Hartford at 3:00 p.m. at J.O. Christian Field in Storrs.
