The contest was called after eight innings due to darkness. The
game marks the second time this season the Huskies have scored 26 runs
in a contest; UConn also put up 26 runs against Quinnipiac on April
22.
The Huskies led 9-4 after 3.5 innings, but Brown got to UConn
starter Keith Potvin (Manchester, NH) in the home half of the fourth.
The Bears posted 11 runs in the frame on nine hits and three errors.
UConn would respond though with 12 runs in the seventh to take a
24-21 lead it would not relinquish. Tokarz hit his three run blast
over the center field fence scoring Mocerino and Jeff Hourigan (Beacon
Falls, CT). UConn would record nine hits in the inning and left the
bases loaded.

and two RBI and also swiped two bags from the leadoff spot. Marc
Peluso (Pawcatuck, CT) continued his torrid hitting with a 4-for-6
effort with four runs scored and two RBI.
Pat MaGuire (Chelmsford, MA) earned his first win as a Husky.
MaGuire gave up 10 earned in 4.1 innings of work in relief of Potvin.

UConn.
The Huskies return to action on Thursday, April 29 when they take
on the University of Hartford. Game time is set for 6:00 p.m. at
