Baseball Signee Erik Turgeon Drafted by Boston

BOSTON, Mass. (June 8, 2005) - University of Connecticut National Letter of Intent signee Erik Turgeon, a right-handed pitcher, was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the 49th round of the 2005 Major League Baseball Draft on Wednesday, June 8.

Turgeon, the 1,473rd pick overall, is a 6-0, 165-pound athlete out of Dunedin High School who can pitch and play infield. He bats and throws right and is the nephew of UConn associate head coach Dave Turgeon.
