Wasserman Earns BIG EAST Honor

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (February 27, 2006) - Senior Austin Wasserman (Nashua, N.H.) was recognized by the BIG EAST on Monday afternoon for his stellar play in the Huskies' season-opening weekend.  Wasserman was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll after going 4-for-5 with 5 RBI and a home run in Connecticut's 9-1 victory over Florida Atlantic on Sunday morning. 

On the weekend, Wasserman had five hits in 10 at-bats for a .500 average.  His slugging percentage currently stands at .900.  His home run is the first of the season for Huskies.  In the field, Wasserman recorded five put-outs for a 1.000 fielding percentage.

Wasserman and the rest of the Huskies will be back in action again this weekend as they start their spring break trip.  The team will travel to Texas and Florida to face nine teams in as many days.
