Baseball to Play Quinnipiac at Dodd Stadium
STORRS, Conn.
(May 7, 2008)
— The
University of Connecticut baseball team will play its non-conference
match-up against Quinnipiac University on Monday, May 12 at Dodd
Stadium in Norwich, Conn. Game time is set for 3:00 p.m.
As part of
Quinnipiac's home schedule, they will be designated the home team
for the contest.

Dodd Stadium
is home to the Eastern League's Connecticut Defenders, the AA minor
league affiliate of the San Francisco Giants major league franchise.
The Defenders play in the EAS Northern Division along with the
Portland (Maine) Sea Dogs, Trenton (N.J.) Thunder, New Britain
(Conn.) Rock Cats, Binghamton (N.Y.) Mets and the New Hampshire
Fisher Cats.
UConn is
currently 23-27 overall this season and 8-16 in the BIG EAST while
Quinnipiac holds an overall record of 11-31 and a 5-15 record in the
NEC.
Earlier this
week, senior Gordon Stevens (Vista, Calif.) was named to the
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after his stellar play in last week's
games against Central Connecticut and Notre Dame. Stevens went
9-for-15 with a .600 batting average, while he recorded four runs,
four RBIs and a .933 slugging percentage. He also picked up two
doubles and one homerun in the Huskies' 2-2 overall week of play.
The Huskies
have this weekend off due to final exams and graduation at the
University of Connecticut. They will return to action on Monday to
take on the Bobcats in non-league action.
