Baseball Holds Annual Blue/White World Series
STORRS, Conn. (October 8, 2008)
— The
University of Connecticut baseball team will be holding its annual
Blue/White World Series on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 10 and 11 at
J.O. Christian Field.
The
Huskies will be separated into two teams and will play a
best-of-three, seven inning-game series beginning Friday afternoon
at 3:00 p.m. Saturday's game is set for 10:00 a.m.
UConn
assistant coaches, Chris Podeszwa and Justin Blood
will coach the teams as Podeszwa will lead the Blue team while Blood
will coach the White team as this weekend will conclude the Huskies'
fall team practices.
On the hill
for the Blue team on Friday night will be senior Matt McDonald
(Dartmouth, Nova Scotia) as he will be up against fellow
classmate John Folino (Quincy, Mass.), who is the White
team's Friday afternoon starter.
The
Blue/White World Series is free for all fans.
