2004 NCAA Tournament Bracket

STORRS, CT (March 14) -- The
University of Connecticut men's basketball team (27-6) has earned a No. 2 seed in the 2004 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship and will square off with the America East Conference Champion Vermont Catamounts (22-8) on Thursday, March 18 at the HSBC Center in Buffalo New York.  Game time is set for 7:10 pm and will be televised on CBS.

The Catamounts are making their second consecutive trip to the big dance after successfully defending their America East Conference Tournament crown with a 72-53 triumph over Maine on March 13.

The winner of Thursday’s game will tangle with either No. 7 seed DePaul (21-9) or No. 10 seed Dayton (23-7).  DePaul shared the 2004 Conference USA Regular Season Championship in 2004, and advanced to the C-USA title game before bowing out to Cincinnati 55-50 on March 13.  Dayton advanced to the Atlantic 10 Tournament Final and fell to Xavier, 58-49, on March 13.
