Anderson Transferred to Hartford Hospital

Storrs, Conn. (February 10, 2005)-- University of Connecticut junior men’s basketball player Rashad Anderson (Lakeland, Fla.) has been transferred Thursday morning to Hartford Hospital from Windham Hospital in Willimantic.

Anderson is being transferred to Hartford Hospital to take advantage of additional treatment resources at that facility, specifically a hyperbaric oxygen chamber. This is being done to assist with the healing of Rashad’s wound from the draining of the skin abscess on his right leg.

Anderson is not expected to see action Sunday in UConn’s contest against North Carolina.

Anderson was checked into Windham on Tuesday with the skin abscess in the inner thigh area of his right leg. That infection was drained Tuesday night.
