STORRS, Conn. (July 2, 2008) - The University of Connecticut men’s basketball team will play an 18-game BIG EAST Conference schedule during the 2008-09 season, highlighted by two contests each with Notre Dame, Pittsburgh and Seton Hall, as released by the conference office Tuesday.

This is the second straight season with a return to an 18-game league schedule for the BIG EAST after it was previously used from 1991-92 through 1998-99. Each of the 16 conference teams will play three opponents twice during the season and the other 12 schools once.

In addition to the home games against Notre Dame, Pittsburgh and Seton Hall, UConn’s BIG EAST regular season home games will be against Georgetown, Providence, Rutgers, USF, Syracuse and Villanova.

UConn’s road BIG EAST games will be at Cincinnati, DePaul, Louisville, Marquette, St. John's and West Virginia.

Dates and times of all conference games, as well as the remainder of the UConn schedule, will be released at a later date in addition to sites (Hartford or Storrs) for home games.
