NEW BRITAIN, CT (Sept. 20) - The University of Connecticut
men’s cross country team, led by Mike Hall (Washington Depot, CT) who took first
with a time of 26:39, placed their runners in the top four spots to win the CCSU
Ted Owens Invitational. Eric Fleckenstein (Port Jefferson, NY) took second in 26:54,
Ken Goglas (Randolph, NJ) was right behind him in 26:56, and Pat Blake (Lebanon,
CT) placed fourth with a time of 27:01.
Max Feldman (Easton, CT) also cracked the top 10 with a
ninth-place finish in a time of 27:50. The Huskies finished with 19 points for
first place, and their closest competitor Maine finished second with 68 points.
UMass followed with 97, and New Haven finished fourth with 115.
The Huskies return to action on Sept. 26 when they compete at
the Quinnipiac Invitational at 4:00 p.m.
