HAMDEN, CT (Sept. 26) - With six runners placing in the top
10, the University of Connecticut men’s cross country team took first place at
the Quinnipiac Invitational among nine teams. Ken Goglas (Randolph, NJ) led the
Huskies with a time of 26:03 to finish in second, and Mike Hall (Washington
Depot, CT) placed fourth in a time of 26:20.
Placing fifth was Eric Fleckenstein (Port Jefferson, NY), and
in seventh was Pat Blake (Lebanon, CT). Eighth place went to UConn’s Max Feldman
(Easton, CT), and also in the top 10 was Alex Hudimatch (Watertown, CT).
The Huskies earned just 26 points to finish six ahead of
Quinnipiac in a tight race. Rhode Island finished third as a team with 99
points.
UConn returns to action on October 10 at the New England
Championships in Boston, Mass.
