ALBANY, N.Y. (Oct. 16) – The University of Connecticut men’s cross
country team came in fourth out of 29 teams at the 38th Annual Albany Cross
Country Invitational on Saturday. The Huskies turned in a team score of 133
points.
Freshman Paul Durfee (Laconia, N.H.) was the top finisher for UConn,
taking 12th out of 315 competitors with a time of 25:38. Senior captain Pat
Blake (Lebanon, Conn.) followed in 17th with a time of 25:44, while freshman
Colin Meyers finished 21st with a time of 25:51 and classmate Will
Melofchik (Wayside, N.J.) took 28th in 26:00.
Syracuse University won the meet with 60 points and Anthony Traux of the
University of New Hampshire was the individual champion.
The Huskies next compete in the BIG EAST Championship on October 29th in
Boston, Mass.
