Men's Cross Country Finished First At Ted Owens Invitational

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (September 17) - The University of Connecticut men's cross country team captured first place in the Ted Owens Invitational on Saturday afternoon with a total of 22 points.  Husky team members Brian Gagnon, Kyle Eckman, and Brian Cacace took first, second and third place consecutively.  Gagnon finished with a time of 28:03, Eckman finished at 28:09 and Cacace at 28:11.

Central Connecticut came in second place with 33 points followed by Fairfield with 76.  The top-10 positions were divided between UConn and CCSU.  The Huskies' Brian Colonnese took sixth place, and Daren Myers rounded out the top finishers in tenth.

The men's cross country team will next compete on Sept. 24 at the Iona Meet of Champions.
