Huskies Place 14th At Iona Meet of Champions

Bronx, N.Y. (Sept. 24) - The University of Connecticut men's cross country
team finished in 14th place at the Iona Meet of Champions on Saturday morning.
The Huskies accumulated 412 points in the race, in which 25 colleges
participated. UConn was led by junior Max Feldman (Easton, Conn.) who
finished in 12th place in a time of 25:11.30. Sophomore Will Melofchik
(Wayside, N.J.) was the next Husky to cross the finish line, taking 46th place
in a time of 26:07.40. Other UConn finishers included sophomore Kyle Eckman,
who finished in 109th place, freshman Brian Colonnese (Easton, Conn.),
who placed 124th, classmate Daren Meyers (Cohoes, N.Y.) in 145th and
sophomore Steve Iannaccone (Toms River, N.J.), who wrapped things up for
the Huskies in 148th position. Arkansas won the event after capturing second
through sixth place. The Huskies are next in action on Oct. 7 when they travel
to Boston, Mass. for the New England Championship. |
