Huskies Finish 19th At NCAA Regionals

Results BOSTON, Mass. (November 12) - The University of
Connecticut men's cross country team finished in 19th place out of 33 teams with
474 points at the NCAA Northeastern Regional on Saturday, held at Franklin Park.
Sophomore Will Melofchik (Wayside, N.J.) led the way for the Huskies,
finishing in 22nd in a time of 30:58.1. Junior Max Feldman (Easton,
Conn.) was next with a time of 31:31.3, good for 47th place. Freshman Brian
Colonnese (Easton, Conn.) was 128th in a time of 33:22.9, sophomore Brian
Cacace (East Haven, Conn.) took 131st in a time of 33:24.4, junior Kyle
Eckman (Bridgewater, N.J.) was 146th in a time of 33:51.8 while freshman
Daren Meyers (Cohoes, N.Y.) rounded out the Husky lineup by finishing 197th
in a time of 35:18.2. Iona captured the team title with 33 points and
Dartmouth was second with 50 points. Richard Kiplagat of Iona took the
individual title in a time of 29:11.2. This concludes the 2005 cross country
season for the Huskies. |
