Men's Cross Country Team Finishes Third in Leopard Invitational

Individual Results Easton, Pa. (October 13,
2007) - The University of Connecticut men's cross country team placed third
out of 12 teams Saturday at the Leopard Invitational. Will Sanders (Weathersfield,
Conn.) finished third overall with a time of 25:24.2. Will Melofchik
(Wayside, N.J.) was right behind him in fourth at 25:33.1. Sanders and
Melofchik were the top two collegiate finishers, as the top two finishers were
racing unattached. Colin Meyers (West Senica, N.Y.) also had a strong
race for the Huskies, finishing 21st with a time of 26:45.8. Maryland won the
team competition with 63 points. American University was second with 90 points, and UConn
was third with 93 points. The Huskies are back in action next Saturday
when they participate in the CCSU Mini-Meet in New Britain, Conn. This will be
their final tune-up before the BIG EAST Championship on October 27 in
Louisville, Ky. |
