Men's Cross Country Places 16th in NCAA Northeast Regional
BOSTON, Mass. (November 10, 2007) - The University of
Connecticut men's cross country team placed 16th in the NCAA
Northeast Regional on Saturday at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass.
Sophomore Will Sanders (Wethersfield, Conn.) was the top
finisher for the Huskies, finishing 22nd with a time of 30:29.60.
UConn had two other runners finish in the top 100. Will Melofchik
(Wayside, N.J.) finished 45th with a time of 31:09.15. David McKay
(Marlborough, N.Y.) finished 81st with a time of 31:41.85. Iona won the
competition with a 37 points. Fellow BIG EAST member Providence advanced to the
NCAA Championship with a second place finish of 46 points. This concludes the
2007 cross country season for the Huskies. The indoor track and field season
begins on January 5 with the Alumni Invitational at the Greer Field House in
Storrs, Conn. |
