Sanders Earns All-Northeast Region Honors for Men's Cross Country

STORRS, Conn. (November 12, 2007) - Junior Will Sanders (Wethersfield, Conn.) earned All-Northeast Region honors from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for his performance at the NCAA Northeast Regional Saturday. He finished 22nd with a time of 30:29.60. The USTFCCCA gives the honors to the top 25 finishers at the NCAA meet.

Sanders time was an improvement of nearly three minutes from his 2006 time of 33:23. He was the top Husky finisher in every race this season, and picked up his first career victory at the UMass Invitational on September 15.

Sanders will compete as a distance runner once the track and field season begins on January 5 with the Alumni Invitational in Storrs, Conn.
