Men's Cross Country BIG EAST Championship Results

BRONX, N.Y. (October 31, 2008) – The
University of Connecticut men’s cross country team took part in the BIG
EAST Championships Friday and finished in 13th place. The 8k race was held in
Van Cortlandt Park for the first time in three years. Sophomore Scott Johnson
crossed the line first for the Huskies finishing overall in 68th place with a
time of 26:28. This is the fourth time during the 2008 cross country season that
Johnson has finished first out of all of the UConn runners.
Coming in just seconds after Johnson was freshman Andrew
Judd with a time of 26:35 good for 70th. Junior Brian Gagnon finished
third for the Huskies in 26:48 and sophomore David Macklem and junior
Michael Rutt finished right behind each other with times of 27:14 and 27:20
respectively.
Rounding out the pack were sophomore Luke Albertson
(27:29), freshmen Alex and Tim Bennetan with times of 28:27 and
28:28 respectively and freshman Rachid Sofiane who finished with a time of
28:50.
