Meineke Car Care Bowl
Ticket Count Reaches 12,000
STORRS, CONN. (Dec.
20, 2007) - The University of
Connecticut Division of Athletics has sold and allocated 12,000
tickets out of its allotment for the 2007 Meineke Car Care Bowl.
UConn has a total allotment of 12,500 tickets for the game.
The Huskies will
take on Wake Forest of the Atlantic Coast Conference in the game
that will be played at Bank of America Stadium on Saturday, December
29, 2007 at 1:00 p.m.
“We are thrilled
that so many Husky fans have decided to join us in Charlotte for the
Meineke Car Care Bowl,” says UConn Director of Athletics Jeffrey
Hathaway. “Charlotte is a wonderful city and I know that all UConn
fans will enjoy themselves at the bowl.
“UConn fans are
reminded that there is still plenty of time to purchase tickets and
come to the game. For those who can’t attend the game in person, we
remind you that you can purchase tickets and then donate them back
to UConn so we can give them to military personnel and
underprivileged groups in the Charlotte area.”
Tickets can be
purchased by logging on to
UConnBowl.com. Both tickets
for game attendances and donations can be bought at this site.
It is important for
Husky fans to purchase tickets from the school’s allotment as it
will ensure that they will be seated in the UConn sections and will
help send a strong message that UConn fans travel in large numbers
to support their team at bowl games. In addition, donations further
assist the University in meeting its bowl-mandated ticket
obligation, which will better position UConn for future bowl
opportunities.
