Huskies Sell Out Meineke Car Care Bowl Ticket Allotment

STORRS, CONN. (Dec. 26, 2007) - The University of Connecticut Division of Athletics has sold and allocated its entire allotment of 12,500 tickets for the 2007 Meineke Car Care Bowl. The Huskies will take on Wake Forest of the Atlantic Coast Conference in the game that will be played at Bank of America Stadium on Saturday, December 29, 2007 at 1:00 p.m

"We are extremely pleased to have sold out our entire allotment of tickets for the Meineke Car Care Bowl,” says UConn Director of Athletics Jeffrey Hathaway. “We are very happy so many UConn fans have decided to join the Husky team in Charlotte. In addition, we are thankful to the UConn fans who purchased tickets and donated them back to us for distribution to military personnel and underprivileged youth groups in the Charlotte area.

"Our sale of tickets to the Meineke Car Care Bowl also sends a very positive message to other bowl games who might be considering UConn in future seasons."

Fans who would still like to purchase tickets to the game may do so through Ticketmaster.com. or by calling Ticketmaster in the Charlotte area at 704-522-6500.

"On behalf of our entire football team, I would like to thank all the UConn fans who purchased tickets for the Meineke Car Care Bowl and helped us sell out our ticket allotment,” says UConn head coach Randy Edsall. “We look forward to seeing you in Charlotte and encourage you to wear your blue to cheer on the Huskies."

As Husky fans begin the journey to Charlotte, we encourage you to "Bring Your Blue."  Wearing UConn colors throughout the streets of downtown Charlotte during the week and on game day will be a strong sign of the pride we have for our BIG EAST Champion Huskies!  So "Bring Your Blue" and wear it proudly in Charlotte and at Bank of America Stadium on Saturday.
