Huskies Finish Eighth
at Palmas Del Mar Intercollegiate
Final Results PALMAS DEL MAR, Puerto Rico (March 11,
2008)-- Senior Brian Travalja shot a final round 69 to finish in a
tie for sixth place individually and help the University of Connecticut golf
team to an eighth place team finish at the Palmas Del Mar Intercollegiate
Tuesday at The Flamboyan. The University of Virginia captured the team title
with a three-round total of 857. Kentucky, South Florida and St. John's rounded
out the top four. UConn shot a total of 898 for the tourney. Andy Winings of
Kentucky and Keegan Bradley tied for the individual title, each shooting a
five-under 211. Travalja shot his final round 69 to tie for sixth at 215, four
shots back. Senior A.J. Siekierski finished in 21st place with a total
of 223 while freshman Matt Dubrowski shot a 68 Tuesday and finished in a
tie for 44th place overall. UConn returns to action on March 31 and April 1
when it travels to compete in the MTSU/Aldila Intercollegiate, hosted by Middle
Tennessee State at the Old Fort Golf Club in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. |
