Huskies Finish Play at MTSU/Aldila Intercollegiate

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (April 1, 2008)-- University of Connecticut senior golfer Brian Travalja finished in a tie for 19th place individually as the Huskies completed play Tuesday at the Middle Tennessee State University/Aldila Intercollegiate at Old Fort Golf Club.

Middle Tennessee captured the team title in the two-day tournament with a three-round total of 869, outdistancing Arkansas-Little Rock and Austin Peay by seven shots. UConn finished with a team total of 930, standing 11th in the 11-team field.

Travalja shot rounds of 75-73-73 for a five-over par total of 221. Grant Leaver and Erik Barnes of Austin Peay finished one-two in the individual standings, with Leaver posting a three-shot advantage at 211.

UConn returns to action on April 11-13 when it travels to Tempe, Arizona for the  Arizona State University Thunderbird Invitational at the Karsten Course.
