STORRS, Connecticut (May 1, 2008) –
The University of Connecticut golf team was honored by the NCAA with
a public recognition awards for their latest multi-year Academic
Progress Rate (APR) scores.
The UConn golf team
multi-year APR score ranked in the top 10 percent of all squads in
the country. The public recognition awards are part of the broad
Division I academic reform effort.
Multi-year APR
scores for all 6,272 Division I sports teams, including the teams
receiving public recognition awards, will be announced Tuesday, May
6. This release of APR scores will cover the 2003-04, 2004-05,
2005-06 and 2006-07 school years.
The UConn golf team
was coached by Ron Dubois during the time period for this award, who
retired at the end of the 2006-07 season. Former Illinois assistant
Dave Pezzino is now the UConn coach.

the academic achievement of our men’s golf team,” says UConn
Director of Athletics Jeffrey Hathaway. “I want to acknowledge Ron
Dubois for his commitment to the academic and athletic success of
our student-athletes. To be in the top 10 percent in the country is
a testimony to the outstanding young men we have in the golf
program.”
