STORRS, CT (September 9) – Freshman Adam Schuerman
(Brookfield, WI) of the University of Connecticut men’s soccer team was named
the BIG EAST Goalie of the Week for the week ending September 8, by league
officials on Monday afternoon.
Schuerman earned his first two collegiate wins with a pair of
shutouts against No. 21 American (3-0) and UNLV (5-0) as Connecticut won the
2002 adidas/UConn Soccer Classic title. He made eight saves on the weekend,
including five against UNLV.
Connecticut will play host to BIG EAST opponent West Virginia on Saturday,
September 14 at 7:00 pm at Morrone Stadium.
