PROVIDENCE,
RI (November 5) – Cesar Cuellar (Santa Cruz, Bolivia) earned his second weekly
honor this season as the BIG EAST Conference named him the last Offensive Player
of the Week for the 2002 season on Tuesday morning. He was also tabbed with ECAC
Player of the Week and Soccer America Team of the week honors for his four goal effort.
Cuellar scored four goals in two conference wins for
Connecticut last week. In a 4-2 victory over Syracuse, he recorded his second
hat trick of the season, including the game winner. Cuellar also tallied UConn’s
first goal in a 2-0 win over Virginia Tech.
Connecticut, seeded No. 3 for the 202 BIG EAST Tournament, will play host to
No.6 Rutgers on Saturday, November 9 at 1 pm at Morrone Stadium in a
quarterfinal match-up.
