UConn Men’s Soccer Seals the Deal Over Saint Peter’s, 1-0 in 2OT
Sealy nets difference-maker at 106:42

STORRS, Conn. – Connecticut sophomore Steve Sealy (St. James, Trinidad) handed St. Peter’s a 1-0 loss in double overtime in men’s soccer action at Morrone Stadium on Wednesday night. Sealy recieved the feed from classmate Kevin Burns (Greenfield, Ind.) on a free kick and headed the ball into the top of the net 106:42 into the contest.

Sophomore Geoffrey Anatole (Sharon, Mass.) kept the Huskies (2-3-1) in the game, turning aside four shots in net, all of which came in the second half. UConn’s defense also helped deflect a few narrow misses on the Peacock’s (0-2-1) 12 total shots.

St. Peter’s goalkeeper Pat Nagawiecki made three saves and Connecticut recorded nine total shots. Corner kicks were 7-3 in favor of the Huskies and fouls were 14-12, UConn.

Connecticut begins its conference schedule on Saturday, September 18th, as it plays hosts to BIG EAST foe West Virginia at 7:00 p.m.
