The
University of Connecticut men’s soccer program led the nation for the 2004
season in total home attendance and came in at No. 3 for home average
attendance, as recorded by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)
office. For the last seven seasons, UConn has ranked in the nation’s top three
for home average attendance and has been first for five of the last seven years
in overall home attendance.
In total attendance, UConn led with 28,728 fans while Maryland followed in
second with 26,604 and Indiana was third with a total of 26,235 fans. The
Huskies ranked third in average home attendance with an average of 2,209 fans
over 13 home contests, coming in just behind Indiana (2,385 avg.) and New Mexico
(2,378 avg.).
