Former UConn Standout Darin Lewis Earns Trinidad And Tobago Football Federation Award

Port of Spain, Trinidad (June 10, 2008) - Former University of Connecticut men's soccer player Darin Lewis was named one of five Players of the Year for the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation's Super League during the end of the season awards ceremony at the Trinidad Hilton Sunday.

 

Lewis currently plays with WASA FC, the 2007 B-Mobile National Super League champions. WASA not only went undefeated to win the title last year, but won the Super League Big Four competition and was a semifinalist in the Super League Knockout. In 2006, the club also became the first National Super League team to capture the Trinidad and Tobago FA Trophy.
 

A two-year letterwinner with the Huskies, Lewis was an All-American in 2000 after leading UConn to the national championship that season and the national semifinals in 1999. He was the College Cup Offensive MVP during the championship run after tallying two goals in the tournament, including the 2-0 clincher vs. Creighton in the national final.
