Women's Cross Country Competes Well at BIG EAST Championships

Lousville, Ky. (October 27, 2007) – The University of Connecticut women’s cross country team took a 13th place finish at the BIG EAST Championships hosted by the University of Louisville on Saturday afternoon.

Co-captain Kate Vaughan (Bethel Park, Pa.) finished first for the Huskies as her 69th place finish came at 22:47.45. Sophomore Sadie Ball (Newtown, Conn.) was the second Husky to cross the finish line with a time of 23:03.75.

West Virginia was crowned the BIG EAST Champion as they took the title with 77 points. The Mountaineers' top finisher was sophomore Marie Loui Asselin, with a second place finish at 20:19.30.

Georgetown's Melissa Grelli was the individual BIG EAST Champion as she crossed the finish line first at 20:05.55.
