Women's Cross Country Competes Well at NCAA Northeast Regional

BOSTON, Mass. (November 10, 2007) – The University of Connecticut women’s cross country team took a 17th place finish at the NCAA New England Regional Championship, hosted by Harvard University on Saturday afternoon.

UConn's Caitlin Cannon finished first for the Huskies as her 86th place finish came at 22:38.30. Alasia Griebel was the second Husky to cross the finish line with a 90th place finish.

Providence was crowned the New England Champion as the Friars 73 points beat out the rest. Providence's Danette Doetzel finished in first place at a time of 20:28.00 to lead the pack. Stony Brook finished in second with 118 points while Boston College took third with 132 points.

The Huskies finished the event with 543 points for the 17th place finish among the 36 total teams.
