Nancy Stevens Records 200th Victory at UConn

STORRS, CT (October 27) -- 14th year University of Connecticut field hockey coach Nancy Stevens won her 200th career game at Connecticut when her squad defeated Syracuse, 2-1, on Sunday in New York. Coach Stevens is now only 12 wins away from tying former UConn coach Diane Wright for the all-time wins record.

Under Stevens’ direction, the Huskies have set the tone in the BIG EAST Conference, winning a league record 12 BIG EAST titles (six regular season, six tournament). UConn has also made seven appearances in the NCAA Division I Field Hockey Championship, including two trips to the semifinals, and three trips to the quarterfinal round.

Before taking over at UConn, Stevens spent two years at Franklin & Marshall, and nine seasons at Northwestern. Stevens has collected 380 career wins in 24+ seasons of coaching, good for second all-time on the Division I field hockey wins list.

The Huskies are back in action on Wednesday, October 29 when they play host to Fairfield at 4:00 p.m.
