UConn to learn first
round site and opponent Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. (ET)
STORRS, Conn. (Nov. 8, 2004) — The No. 6 University
of Connecticut field hockey team (20-1) will learn its first-round opponent and
site on Tuesday, Nov. 9 at 7:00 p.m. (ET) on College Sports Television’s (CSTV)
NCAA Field Hockey Selection Show.
The Huskies are guaranteed an automatic berth to the
16-team NCAA Tournament field following their 4-1 win over Boston College in the
BIG EAST Championship Game.
UConn boasts an all-time mark of 20-13 in NCAA postseason
play and has qualified for the NCAA Tournament in nine of the last 10 seasons.
CSTV, which televises more women’s sports than any other
network, will exclusively present the NCAA Field Hockey Championship Show on
Tuesday, Nov. 9 at 7:00 p.m. (ET) live from the CSTX Fieldhouse in New York.
The selection show will also be steamed online at CollegeSports.com.
CSTV’s selection show coverage will be hosted by Adam
Zucker. Zucker and guests will analyze the brackets, preview first round games
as well as the players and teams to watch.
The NCAA Field Hockey National Semifinals and Championship
are scheduled for Friday and Sunday, Nov. 19 & 21 at Kentner Stadium on the
campus of Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, N.C.
CSTV will televise the NCAA Championship Game live on
Sunday, Nov. 21 (12:30 p.m., ET) with Beth Mowins calling the action, Siri
Lindley on color and Jenny Cavnar providing sideline analysis. |
