Seven UConn Field Hockey Players Named to National Academic Squad

STORRS, Conn. (March 3, 2005) - Seven members of the University of Connecticut field hockey team have been named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division I National Academic Squad.

Representing the Huskies on the academic honor list were freshman Claire Carwell (Laconia, N.H.), junior Brianna Clark (Marshfield, Mass.), senior Joy Domin (Gilford, N.H.), sophomore Kristin Galuski (Latham, N.Y.), sophomore Justine Odenwaelder (Goshen, Conn.), senior Abby Ostruzka (Riverside, Conn.) and junior Laura Puddle (London, England).

Ostruzka is a four-time NFHCA National Academic Squad choice. Domin and Clark were each honored for the third consecutive season while Puddle earned recognition for the second time in her collegiate career.

Carwell, Galuski and Odenwaelder were each first time selections.
