UConn Field Hockey Falls 4-2 In Exhibition to Greenwich Club
Kristin Galuski and Nikki Harmony tab goals in loss

STORRS, Conn. (August 21, 2005) - The University of Connecticut field hockey team dropped its final tune up of the preseason 4-2 vs. Greenwich Club on Sunday afternoon at the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex.

The two teams played three 25-minute periods in the exhibition contest.

The Huskies took a 2-0 lead in the first period as Kristin Galuski (Latham, N.Y.) scored off a feed from Nikki Harmony (Palmyra, Pa.) and Katie Cavanagh (Norwalk, Conn.). Harmony registered the Huskies final goal of the contest as she redirected a blast off the stick of Rebecca Helwig (Basking Ridge, N.J.) at the 6:50 mark of the first period.

Greenwich rallied for the win with one goal in the second period and three scoring tallies in the final 25 minutes.

Greenwich out-shot UConn for the game 16-4 and attempted three penalty corner while limiting UConn to one.

The Greenwich Club Team included 10 men, a number of which were former Olympians and current U.S. Junior National Men's Team players.

The Huskies open the 2005 regular season on Friday night (August 26) beginning at 7:00 p.m. (ET) when they host Albany at the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex.
