Kristin Galuski and Jennifer Kleinhans Named
BIG EAST Field Hockey Players of the Week
Galuski earns offensive honor, Kleinhans nabs defensive award
STORRS,
Conn. (August 29, 2005) - University of Connecticut field hockey
players Kristin Galuski (Latham, N.Y.) and Jennifer
Kleinhans (Mannheim, Germany) were recognized as the BIG EAST
Field Hockey Players of the Week for the period ending August 28
according to BIG EAST Officials.

Galuski was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week following a
three-goal, one-assist and seven-point effort last week. She scored
back-to-back goals in UConn’s season-opening win over Albany (N.Y.)
and added a goal and an assist in the Huskies’ 7-0 win over Maine.
Galuski, who has already surpassed her season-best goal scoring total
of two, which she set during her freshman campaign in 2004, was
recognized with the conference’s weekly honor for the first time in
her career.

Kleinhans was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week after
leading a Connecticut defensive effort that limited its opponents to
just one goal in its two victories last week. The true freshman also
registered her first career goal while adding an assist in UConn’s 7-1
win over Maine. The conference honor marks the first of Kelinhans’
career.
The Huskies return to action when they travel to State College, Pa.,
to face Penn State on Sunday, September 4 beginning at 12:00 p.m.
(ET).
