No. 12 UConn Field Hockey Falls to No. 14 Boston College

STORRS, Conn. (October 26, 2005) —
The No. 12 University of Connecticut field hockey team was defeated by No. 14 Boston College 1-0 on Wednesday night at the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex.

After a scoreless first half, Kelly Bronwen netted the game’s only goal unassisted at 48:34.

The Huskies offense came up short despite out shooting the Eagles nine to six and attempting five penalty corners to BC’s three.

The loss drops UConn to 13-5 overall while BC moves to 13-4 following the win.

UConn will return to action on Saturday, October 29, for the Hartford Courant Careerbuilder.com Senior Salute. The Huskies will host Providence College in their final regular season matchup scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. (ET) at the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex. With a win, the Huskies would clinch a share of the regular season BIG EAST title for the ninth time in 10 years.
