Eight Members of Field Hockey Team Named to NFHCA National All-Academic Team
Connecticut one of 58 programs nationally to boast Team GPA of
3.0 or better
STORRS,
Conn. (April 15, 2008) – Eight members of the University
of Connecticut field hockey team have been named to the 2007 ZAG/NFHCA
Division I National Academic Squad.
UConn players earning selection include Anna Easty (Toronto,
Ont.), Kristin Galuski (Latham, N.Y.), Danielle Griep
(Marathon, N.Y.), Nikki Harmony (Palmyra, Pa.), Jennifer
Kleinhans (Mannheim, Germany), Lizzy Peijs (Venlo,
Holland), Gina Uguccioni (Colrain, Mass.) and Amy Williams
(Wilmington, Del.).
Seniors Harmony and Peijs were each selected for the third
consecutive season while junior Uguccioni,
Kleinhans and Griep were recognized
for the second time in their careers.
In addition, the Huskies were one of 58 programs
nationally to be recognized as a recipient of the 2007 ZAG/NFHCA
Division I National Academic Team Award for boasting a Team GPA of
3.0 or better.
