Updated Hockey East Tournament Information
Travel Advisory for Saturday's Semifinal Games

STORRS, Conn. (March 6, 2008) - The University of Connecticut women's ice hockey team will take the ice on Saturday as the second-seeded team in the 2008 Hockey East Tournament, hosted by the Huskies in the Mark Edward Freitas Ice Forum this weekend.

UConn, currently 22-7-5 overall, will take on Providence College in the second semifinal game of the day at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, following the clash between top-seeded New Hampshire and fourth-seeded Boston University at noon.

In the league's sixth season, the Hockey East has developed into one of the most competitive conferences in the country and has placed members among the top teams in the country as well.

This weekend's tournament will see four aggressive programs battle it out for the Hockey East Championship title as well as an automatic berth into the NCAA tournament. The winners of the two semifinal games on Saturday will face off on Sunday in the final game of the tournament at 12:30 p.m. The title game will be televised by NESN on tape-delay, which will air at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday evening.

The semifinal games on Saturday can be seen on the B2 Network, the only site that will feature the games live via the internet. Games will be sold on an individual basis for $8.00. Live statistics will also be available for the entire tournament and can be found at www.UConnHuskies.com on the day of each event.

Tickets are still available for the tournament by calling the University of Connecticut ticket office at 1-877-288-2666.

Fans and media who are planning on attending Saturday's women's Hockey East Tournament at Freitas Ice Forum need to be aware that due to the UConn men's basketball game at Gampel Pavilion, which starts at 4:00 p.m., the normal access to   Freitas Ice Forum will be restricted. Stadium Road from the corner of Hillside and Stadium through the South Parking Garage will be closed to thru traffic from 2:00 p.m. until approximately 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.

FROM BRADLEY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT: The University of Connecticut campus is located 50 minutes driving time from Bradley International Airport. From the airport, take I-91 south to I- 291 east to I-84 east to exit (68). Off the exit take a right on Rte. 195 south and follow signs to the university. Once on the campus take a right on North Eagleville Road, then take a left onto Hillside Road. Take a right at the stop sign onto Alumni Drive, travel approximately .5 miles and then take a right onto Stadium Road.  Freitas Ice Forum will be located on your left.

FROM HARTFORD: The University of Connecticut campus is located 45 minutes driving time from Hartford. Take I-84 east to exit (68). Off the exit take a right on Rte. 195 south and follow signs to the university. Once on the campus go right on North Eagleville Road, then take a left onto Hillside Road. Take a right at the stop sign onto Alumni Drive, travel approximately .5 miles and then take a right onto Stadium Road. Freitas Ice Forum will be located on your left.

FROM BOSTON: The University of Connecticut campus is approximately one and half-hours from Boston. From Mass Pike take I-84 west to exit (68). Off the exit take a left on Rte. 195 south and follow signs to the university. Once on the campus go right on North Eagleville Road, then take a left onto Hillside Road. Take a right at the stop sign onto Alumni Drive, travel approximately .5 miles and then take a right onto Stadium Road.  Freitas Ice Forum will be located on your left.

FROM PROVIDENCE: The University of Connecticut is approximately one and one quarter hours from Providence. From Rte. 295 take exit (5-6), following signs to Hartford. Take Rte. 6 west to Rte. 101 west to Rte. 44 west. Take a left onto Rte. 195 south. Once on campus take a right onto North Eagleville Road, then take a left onto Hillside Road. Take a right at the stop sign onto Alumni Drive, travel approximately .5 miles and then take a right onto Stadium Road. Freitas Ice Forum will be located on your left.
