CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (March 19, 2008) - Kim McGinty (Huntington, N.Y.) led
the Huskies with four goals as the
University of Connecticut women's lacrosse team fell to Harvard 16-11 on Wednesday
evening at Jordan Field.
With her four goals scored, McGinty tied a career-high mark for goals in a game.
With the loss, the Huskies' record drops to
0-6 on the year while the Crimson improve to 5-1 overall with
the victory.
Harvard out scored UConn 8-5 in the first half then 8-6 in the second, while
out-shooting the Huskies 41-26.
Harvard's Kaitlin Martin recorded a game-high seven goals to lead the Crimson to
their fifth victory of the season as she had nine shots on UConn's Jenna
Moulton (East Rochester, N.Y.) in goal.
Robyn Patuch (Merrick, N.Y.) and Whitney Michele (E. Rochester,
N.Y.) both had a multi-point game as
Patuch recorded two goals and three assists while Michele picked up three goals
and one assist.
UConn was able to tally 11 draw controls compared to Harvard's 18 while the
Crimson picked up 16 ground balls over the Huskies' 15.
The Huskies return to action on Saturday, March 22 as they travel to Syracuse
for a noon match-up in Syracuse, N.Y. |
