Women's Rowing Concludes Fall Season

PHILADELPHIA (Oct. 30) -- The University of Connecticut women's rowing team concluded its fall season on Saturday at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta in Philadelphia. Due to administrative issues, the Championship Eight results are still pending.

In the Club Eight Division, the UConn "A" boat finished in second place -- just 0.6 seconds behind champion Louisville. This was an impressive finish considering that the UConn boat had two major collisions while passing Temple.  The UConn Club Eight “B” boat finished 20th which was a solid finish for them as that is UConn's  third-best Varsity Eight and they defeated several teams second Varsity Eights. There were  39 crews entered in that race.

In the Freshman/Novice Eight event, UConn's experienced freshman boat finished tenth and the novice freshman finished 22nd out of a total of 52 crews. UConn has never had a freshman crew finish in the top 10 at this race.
