Women's Rowing Competes At Head Of Charles Regatta

BOSTON, Mass. (October 23, 2005) - The University of Connecticut women's rowing team competed at the 41st annual Head of Charles Regatta on Sunday afternoon, The Huskies took 40th place in the Women's Championship Eight event with a time of 19:00.450. Coming in first in the event was the US Rowing Princeton Training Center with a time of 16:34.633.

In the boat for Connecticut were junior Gabbey LaChance (Mystic, Conn.), senior Alison Elmo (Highland Hills, N.Y.), senior Stephanie Chivers (Dalton, Mass.), senior Brooke Gaurer (Fairfield, Conn.), junior Nicole Rapp (Mansfield, Conn.), junior Kali Garges (Queche, Vt.), senior Heather Cannon (Wallingford, Conn.), junior Erin Bartie (Westport, Conn.) and senior Valerie Voorhees (Liverpool, N.Y.).

The Huskies will be in action again on Oct. 28 at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta.
