Women's Rowing Concludes Fall Season In Syracuse

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (November 5, 2005) -- The University of Connecticut women's rowing team concluded its fall season on Saturday in competition that invovled the Huskies, Syracuse, Cornell, the University at Buffalo and Rochester.

In the Varsity Four event, the UConn B Team -- Katie Beasley (Centerville, Mass), Katie Devonshuk (Beacon Falls, Conn.), Christina Cotter (West Seneca, N.Y.), Erin Anderson (Barrington, R.I.) and Valerie Voorhees (Liverpool, N.Y.) -- finished seventh in a time of 22:50. The UConn A Boat -- Gabbey LaChance (Mystic, Conn.), Allison Elmo (Highland Hill, N.Y.), Stephanie Chivers (Dalton, Mass), Brooke Grauer (Fairfield, Conn.) and Heather Cannon (Wallingford, Conn.) were tenth in 23:45.0. Syracuse B won the event in 21:31.0.

The UConn Novice Eight A Boat tied for fifth with Buffalo in 22:18.0 while the Novice Eight B Boat for the Huskies was tenth in 25:15.0.
