Women's Soccer Team Honored with NSCAA Academic Team Award

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (December 20, 2007) - The University of Connecticut women's soccer team was honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) recently with a team academic award. The award goes to teams that had a cumulative GPA of over 3.0 or higher over the previous school year. The Huskies as a team had an impressive GPA of 3.30 during the 2006-07 academic year.

The NSCAAA honored 152 Division I women's soccer teams with the team academic award this season. UConn's 3.30 GPA ranked them in a tie for 64th among all Division I teams.

The 2007 Connecticut Huskies concluded this season 14-6-2. They advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals for the first time since 2003. Their final NSCAA national ranking of ninth is also the highest since they finished second in 2003.
