Women's Soccer Team Honored with NSCAA Academic Team Award
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (December 20, 2007) - The University of
Connecticut women's soccer team was honored by the National Soccer
Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) recently with a team academic
award. The award goes to teams that had a cumulative GPA of over 3.0
or higher over the previous school year. The Huskies as a team had
an impressive GPA of 3.30 during the 2006-07 academic year. The
NSCAAA honored 152 Division I women's soccer teams with the team academic award
this season. UConn's 3.30 GPA ranked them in a tie for 64th among all Division I
teams. The 2007 Connecticut Huskies concluded this season 14-6-2. They
advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals for the first time since 2003. Their final
NSCAA national ranking of ninth is also the highest since they finished second
in 2003. |
