Yi named to BIG EAST Honor
Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (September 23, 2008) - University of C onnecticut
junior midfielder Annie Yi (Indianapolis, Ind.) was named to the BIG EAST honor roll for the
week of Sept. 22, 2008 after she tallied all of UConn's goals on the weekend
helping them to a 1-0-1 record, 1-0 in the BIG EAST.
Yi scored the game winning goal against Providence with four minutes remaining
in regulation that put the Huskies on top
1-0 and gave them their first BIG EAST win on the year.
In UConn's match against Fairfield on Sunday, Yi scored the first goal of the
game for either side, in a strikingly similar manner to her lone goal in
Friday's match, putting the Huskies up 1-0. When the game was tied up during the
49th minute, Yi scored again less than two minutes later to give UConn the lead
for the time being. Playing with a man down, the Huskies held off the Fairfield
attack as well as they could and ended up in a 2-2 tie after two overtime
periods.
