Women's Track and Field Finishes Day

- The University
of Connecticut women's track and field team finished day one of the 2008 outdoor season
opener at
the Hurricane Invitational at the Cobb Track and Field Facility in Coral Gables,
Fla.
Junior tri-captain Amanda Martin finished in second place in the javelin
with a throw of 42.58 meters.
Rachael Porter and Tynisha McMillian both earned third place
finishes in their respective events. Porter's third place finish in the high
jump was at a jump of 1.69 meters. McMillian's throw in the hammer of 49.87
meters also gave her a third place finish.
The Huskies will conclude the Hurricane
Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
